MBALE Investment Grain Millers RDC, a subsidiary of MBALE Investment Millers Limited based in Uganda, has issued a warning over the growing circulation of counterfeit products sold under the MBALE brand in the city of Goma and its surrounding areas.
In a statement dated July 14, 2026, the company said it had noted with concern the increasing manufacture, importation, distribution, and sale of products illegally bearing its trademark, which is legally registered and protected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
According to the company, these activities constitute acts of counterfeiting and unfair competition punishable under the law.
It also warned that such counterfeit products pose serious risks to consumers’ health and safety while damaging the reputation of the MBALE brand and causing significant commercial and financial losses.
MBALE stressed that it is strictly prohibited for any individual or legal entity to manufacture, import, export, store, display, sell, distribute, or advertise counterfeit products bearing the MBALE trademark or any similar signs likely to mislead consumers.The company further stated that it reserves the right to initiate both civil and criminal legal proceedings against anyone found involved in these illegal activities.
